Manchester Wood Celebrates Employee Milestones & Anniversary

Photos below…

On October 19, 1976 Manchester Wood began its journey. Yesterday we celebrated 37 years of “American Made Manufacturing.” We celebrated throughout the day by bringing back those old days in Manchester, Vermont. Morning break had Mrs. Murphy’s donuts and coffee (our local morning spot back then), Vermonster candy for the afternoon break, and a big catered meal at lunch followed by milestone recognitions. It’s amazing to find at Manchester Wood that 25% of our employees have worked here for more than 20 years. 40% have worked more than 10 years. That says a lot about the people who work here and their dedication to providing timeless quality solid wood furniture under our company banner.

This year we celebrated some legendary milestones. Carl who has worked for over 30 years at Manchester Wood took time to reminisce about the good old days in Manchester and how far we’ve come as a company compared to those days “back when.” Richard and Tracy were also acknowledged and celebrated for now working over 25 years at “the mill.” Both had funny memories to share, highlighted by Tracy’s mention of his pointer fingers that had taken some beatings through the years on the sanders.

After the gift giving to these exceptional, dedicated woodworkers, the laughs, the memories, the handshakes and hugs, it was back to work again… What dedication. What a day. It’s because of folks like Carl, Tracy, and Richard that ‘Made in USA’ is what it is. We honored them yesterday, but we continue to honor them today with this post, and all the other woodworkers who’ve ever clocked-in at Manchester Wood, furniture ‘Made in the USA’ always, all ways.
