The idea behind a table is relatively simple: a nice elevated surface to keep whatever is on it off of the ground. The idea has been around so long that it seems hard to improve on, but we are constantly thinking about how to make tables that break the mold.

One type of table that has gained popularity relatively recently is the TV tray table. Invented in the ‘50s, TV tray tables were designed so that people could eat a meal in front of the TV instead of seated at the kitchen table.
