As we approach Earth Day we ponder thoughts of ‘eco-conscious’ consumerism and why solid wood tables at home for a green friendly environment are a must.
For us, making solid wood tables is as natural as it gets. The American hardwoods that we use for our furniture are the Native Northeastern hardwood species White Ash, Red Maple, and Red Oak, as well as Beech and Solid Cherry hardwood. We generally make our solid wood tables out of Cherry, Ash, and Beech. These species are ideal in producing quality solid wood furniture with timeless appeal, while also carrying longevity in value. When customers buy our wood furniture they can be certain that it has been built out of high quality local wood that will last for decades. This durability ensures that Manchester Wood furniture is an excellent choice in affordable heirloom pieces.
So specifically… Why Solid Wood Tables?
When you shop for tables in your home its important to factor in 3 things: Value, Cost, and Function. Our solid wood tables at Manchester Wood answer to all three. Value in the essence of where they come from, how they are produced, and the fact that this value in quality doesn’t lead to the dumpster. Cost by its affordable price. At Manchester Wood there is simply no one else making American made solid wood furniture at the price points we provide. There’s no material difference. As one of our customers Dennis said, “On time, on price, on quality. The way it’s supposed to be.” We believe in that mantra. And lastly… Function. Whether through the quirky, unique design of our Chairside Storage Table, the practical Chairside Drawer Table, or our stylish contemporary end tables, we certainly provide function among those choices, and the many other options throughout our current 12 collections. Take a look around, and you’ll decide which have the best function for you.
We truly believe you’ll find the value, price, and function of all our handcrafted solid wood tables.

End tables can be underrated pieces of furniture, perhaps due to their diminutive stature or peripheral nature. Whatever the case may be, we believe that a nice wooden end table can be an integral aspect of almost any room, offering extra surface space and storage as well as contributing aesthetically.
End tables are great places for small lamps, family pictures or just the book you are currently reading. They are usually placed beside sofas and armchairs and are often paired with a coffee table in the living room. Like most furniture, end tables are made using a wide variety of standards and materials. Cheaper options, like particle board or veneer pieces seldom last and can look a bit tacky, so the top end tables are made with solid wood. One risk of end tables is that they tend to accumulate clutter, and while they may be convenient places to put things, those things can distract from the beauty of a well made, solid wood end table.
Our Slate Top End Table
At Manchester Wood, we offer a wide selection of end tables. Some popular options include our Shaker and Traditional end tables. These pieces have a reserved aesthetic and go great with other more traditional furniture.
For homeowners with a more contemporary decorating sensibility, we have options like our 22” Round and Square Cherry End Tables, which both feature beautifully contoured legs and a shelf for extra storage.
Speaking of storage, we also offer many end tables with drawers, shelves and other spaces to put things. A longtime customer favorite is our Chairside Storage Table, which has a hidden compartment that is great for keeping things out of the way. Another good option is our Chairside Drawer Table, which (as the name might imply) offers a spacious drawer that can be opened from either side. This feature is great for open spaces.
So whether you are looking for that last piece of furniture to tie your living room together, or you just need a little bit of extra organization and storage, be sure to consider our collection of end tables and don’t forget that all of our products are made in the USA!
