Adirondack Furniture Made in USA

Authentic Adirondack Furniture

Adirondack furniture is quintessential Manchester Wood. As local wood crafters, we have taken inspiration for this classic American style from the majestic landscape that surrounds us. From our award-winning Adirondack chairs to tables to complete furniture sets, our authentic Adirondack aesthetic weaves through the entire collection.

Our American made Adirondack furniture is at home in both rural and urban outdoor settings and offers the design, function, and craftsmanship that harks back to earlier days growing up in the Adirondacks around Lake George, just a few country miles from our mill. Buying one of our solid wood Adirondack chairs or tables is like bringing home a piece of the Adirondacks complete with their rich history.

The first Adirondack wood chair was designed nearby in the heart of New York's Adirondack Mountains in the early 1900s when the inventor was vacationing there and needed outdoor chairs. The wood Adirondack outdoor chairs proved to be quite popular with summer residents in the Adirondacks and sales quickly took off when a local carpenter began mass-producing the wooden chairs. The original Adirondack chairs wood was constructed out of eleven pieces of wood cut from a single wooden board. The chair had a straight back and seat, which were built at slant to provide comfortable seating on the steep Adirondack mountainsides.

Original Adirondack chairs featured wide armrests as our own wood Adirondack chair models still do this day. And we still use 100% solid wood (except for hardware). However, we've updated a lot of the other design elements from the early 1900s models to improve the design. We use a lot more than eleven pieces of wood to for our Adirondack chairs. The increased number of wood pieces allows us to contour their construction to the natural shape of the human body and make the chair even more comfortable to sit in.

Another convenient feature is that our wood Adirondack chairs are foldable. Without folding, Adirondack furniture is bulky and takes up a lot of storage space over the winter. However, our chairs and tables easily fold compactly and are a breeze to store. Enjoy the comfort of lounging in a comfortable Adirondack chair during the summer without cluttering your garage or shed during the winter.

Folding our solid wood Adirondack chairs is very straightforward and easy. They feature rust-resistant hardware for easy folding action. No one wants to waste time struggling to fold a "foldable" Adirondack chair that has rusted shut.

These innovative features combined with its high quality construction and stylish aesthetic led the Wall Street Journal to name our Adirondack Folding Chair the Best of the Year in 1999.

In addition to private homes, Adirondacks chairs are also becoming popular at cafes and restaurants since their wide, flat armrests on provide a great surface for food and beverages. Next time you are thinking about solid wood Adirondack chairs or tables, consider our Adirondack furniture. Stylish and built to last out of solid wood, they are also easy to store, making them the perfect outdoor chair!
